Many mountain biking trails start from Meribel or Mottaret. Ski lifts are open to mountain bikes during July and August (but not all lifts are open everyday). So if you don't like to climb, you can ride in . However a good technical level and good brakes is required to go downhill.
Lift passes cost 15€ per day, or 40€ per week. You can rent bikes of all sorts in the resort, and take a guided ride (from 30€ for half a day).
Every year is July, two events are organized. They are open to all.
- The Free Bike going down from the Saulire to Brides le Bains.
- A loop around the Trois Vallés going through Courchevel, la Tania, Méribel, les Menuires and Val Thorens. You will have to climb 1100m and down 3400m thanks to the lifts.
